Part of suit of furnishings Winner Heart of Doha Public Realm Furnishings 2013 competition.

This drinking fountain formed part of the winning bid for the design of street furnishings for the Downtown Doha street furnishings.  It drew on the story of the traditional Qatari waterman, who went around settlements  dispensing drinking water, while taking the opportunity of relating stories that tied the communities together.   It relates to traditional plaster carving, water pattern, wells, and brass vessels.

It is made of a white concrete structure supporting an aluminium-bronze alloy bowl with adjoining detail.  Aluminium-bronze was chosen for the stability of its natural finish and connection to maritime use.  The fountain supplies chilled water and, to the side, has a bottle-filler feature.
